Forks at Pacific League XC Championships

Spartan Middle School team took first over five other schools.

On Thursday, Oct. 20, the Spartan Cross Country team competed at League Championships in Ocosta. The MS girls won their race of five schools. Kim Camacho took 2nd, June Gaedtke 3rd, Danikka King 5th, Molly Hampton 8th, Sara Sifuentes 11th, and Kandice Hernandez 13th. The MS boys did not have a full team but Sam Lopez placed 9th, Blake Buchman 10th, Leum Dahl 11th, and Jessie Watson 13th.

The boy’s HS team took a hard loss, losing in a 40-40 tiebreaker to take 2nd. Individually Nova Raupp took 2nd, Kevin Camacho 5th, Braden Camacho 6th, Darinel Lopez 16th, and Brian Lucas 17th.

The HS girl’s team won league with Moli Luong taking 1st, Kendall Marshall 5th, Annika Leverington 10th, Haily Garcia-Moog 14th, and Erema Tost at 15th.

The HS continues their playoffs moving on to Districts at Rainer on Saturday, Oct. 29. They are hoping to make a push to state the following week.
