Bogachiel Garden Club dedicates Memorial Garden and Gold Star Highway Marker

BGC president Janet Hughes welcomed attendees to the Dedication Ceremony on Saturday. She shared some information about the history of the Gold Star activity. The ceremony also included a Flag Line comprised of American Legion Riders Post 29, Port Angeles and American Legion Post 106, Forks. Taps was provided by Meg Rasmussen. The Gold Star Highway Marker now joins the Blue Star Memorial Highway Marker at the Forks Transit Center. The Transit Center property also hosts the Gold Star Families Memorial Monument and a smoke bush panted by BGC in memory of Jason Hanson. Several Gold Star family members were in attendance on Saturday. A Spartan Memorial also lies within the new Memorial Garden.
