As I look back on 2025, I cannot help but be proud and amazed by this group of people. Friends of Forks Animals is comprised of all volunteers; all our members donate their time and energy for free. Their dedication is truly inspiring.

Our spay and neuter program helped fund 76 cat spays, 75 cat neuters, 49 dog spays, and 56 dog neuters in 2025. Our subsidized program covers 50% of the surgical costs per pet. In addition, we also financially assisted 79 families with additional medical expenses. We are so grateful for our partnership with Dr. Pat’s Pet Care. They provide consistent, affordable veterinary care to our community while also serving Port Angeles at their other location, Best Friends Pet Care.

Although our main goal is to continue to provide low-cost spays and neuters to our community, we do so much more. We also provide 100% of the animal care for the City of Forks Animal Shelter. In 2025, there were 155 intakes into our shelter and our volunteers cared for each and every one of them. If an animal is not claimed by their owner within seven days, FOFA takes custody of them from there, and is responsible for finding placements for them.

These numbers are very impressive, but how do we cover the expenses? All by donations. Our community is very generous through personal donations of money and supplies. We would like to send a very special thank you to Forks Outfitters for their generous donations from their 1% Receipt program throughout the year.

We would also like to acknowledge our gratitude to Decker City Hardware for their contributions from their own pet food receipt collection program. We would also like to say thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, to the Lloyd Allen Charitable Trust. Their generous donations through grants this year made it possible for us to fund the bulk of our operation. Without them, most of our work would be impossible. Thank you for your consistent support throughout the years.

As we begin 2026, I do not doubt that we will continue this pattern of excellent service to the animals and their people in our community, and we hope you all will continue to support us. Thank you,
