The Spartan Powerlifting team turned in an impressive performance at its second competition of the season, earning a second-place overall finish in a field of more than 20 teams from across the state.

North Thurston claimed first place in the men’s team standings, while Montesano High School finished third.

The Spartans were led by several strong individual performances. Kolton Cornish and Logan Ramsey each captured first place in their respective weight classes, while Connor Roberts, Samuel Lopez Rivera and Kade Highfield all placed fourth in their divisions.

Cornish and Ramsey’s victories also secured early qualification for the state meet, “An incredible accomplishment this early in the season,” Coach Trevor Highfield shared.

The team will look to build on its success at its next competition, scheduled for April 4 at Shelton High School.

Coach Highfield praised the group’s effort, highlighting the athletes’ hard work, discipline, and commitment as key factors in the team’s continued success this season.
