Members of the Bogachiel Garden Club recently returned from their State Convention with many first-place awards for their activities done during the past year. The most heartfelt project of the year by club members was the Memorial Garden and Gold Star Highway Marker placed near the Gold Star Families Memorial Monument at the Transit Center. This project received first place for Community Beautification for the state and Pacific Region (includes 11 states).

Other first place awards at the state level include Wildlife Conservation, Bird Conservation, Environmental Conservation, Social Media, Youth Involvement, and Youth Poetry. All first-place winners were forwarded to region or national.

While members are tending to their gardens and assisting with the Floral Barn at the county fair this summer, they look forward to meetings soon, beginning in September on the third Sunday of each month at 1 p.m. through June 2027. Meetings are not only fun but educational! For more information on becoming a member and being part of a winning team, call 360-640-1401.
