A couple of weeks ago, the City of Port Angeles signed a contract for the first phase of the Willamette restoration project, the asbestos removal. The contractor has started work. Scaffolding went up around the locomotive last Thursday. Plastic tenting was added so that as the asbestos is removed, it will be contained and not spread into the environment.
The next step will be bids for bodywork, and painting.
Be sure to sign the guestbook at restorethe4.org/guestbook. The support helps with fundraising. There is also merchandise for sale on the website.
