Last Tuesday night Clallam Fire District 1 and surrounding districts practiced vehicle extrication in preparation for the incoming cold front that we are now experiencing. By continuously practicing the more extreme skills that aren’t used as often; like dash rolling - the act of cutting and spreading the front of a car off of the driver and passenger seat compartment; or the use of high-pressure rescue airbags and cribbing to lift a car (or as big as a loaded log truck) off of the ground - crews are prepared for anything.
