America is crying …but still happy

Hi,

My name is Skye Hestand. I’m 12 years old and I would like to say some encouraging words at this time. I would like to say I’m proud of this community, but my heart is really heavy and sad to see how our nation is in a state of chaos.

But our community has adjusted and risen above all the chaos. That includes the schools giving out work packets, the hospitals still giving care to the patients, and the stores finding ways to still give us food and essentials.

In the picture the girl represents America, and the power plants in the background represent all the problems in the world, and if you look in the picture you can see the girl is crying but still happy. That is what I think America feels if she was a person.

But I know we can change that because we are a strong community, and we stick together no matter what, and that shows that we can accomplish anything if we really want to.

So I ask you, do you want to make a difference?

Skye Hestand
