Forks Junior High Students of the Month

Macy Weakley is 7th Grade Girl of the Month. Her parents are Stephanie and Kyle Weakley. Her favorite subject in school is Math, favorite food is ramen soup, and favorite hobby is reading. She’s creative, artistic, and goal-oriented; for instance, by the end of next summer, she plans on having watched every anime movie from Studio Ghibli! Macy takes her academics seriously, strives to do her best, and comes to class with a positive attitude and a willingness to work hard. One teacher said, “Macy is a wonderful student and friend to all. She is dedicated to her studies and always turns in quality work. She is usually pretty quiet, but has a great sense of humor when you get to know her.” Another teacher agreed; she said “Macy has the kindest heart and a quiet presence that people respect and respond to. She is proof that not all leaders lead with their voice. She is a student who reminds teachers why they got into teaching.”

Nate Dahlgren is 7th Grade Boy of the Month. His parents are Chad and Shannon Dahlgren. His favorite subjects in school are Math and PE, his favorite food is steak, and his favorite hobbies are football, fishing, and hunting. Nate isn’t afraid of hard work; in fact, he looks forward to working very hard on his family farm, and he dreams of being an Apache Pilot when he grows up! Nate is a most kind, quiet and stoic student with a warm smile and friendly demeanor. One teacher said, “He is an exceptional student who comes to class with a serious work ethic and always goes beyond expectations.” Another teacher said, “Nate exemplifies what it means to be a student of the month. He is diligent and thoughtful in all of his academics, making sure he produces the best work he can. While he is reserved, his contributions to class are always deep and articulate.”

Amya Hampton is 8th Grade Girl of the Month. Her parents are Kerstin and Paul Hampton. Her favorite subjects in school are Math and Social Studies, her favorite food is mac and cheese, and her favorite things to do outside of school are drawing, being outside, and playing basketball and football. Amya is an intensely hard-worker; in fact, she babysits now, and plans to be a veterinarian for farm animals when she grows up. She is a kind, helpful, and regimented student with an unparalleled work ethic. Her Math teacher reports that she has completed 100% of her homework. Another teacher said, “Amya is a quiet, conscientious, outstanding student. She models exceptional citizenship and academics. She always completes work after an absence for sports, pays close attention in class, and asks for help when she needs it.” Another teacher said, “Amya is a great friend to her seatmate, her classmates, and all staff. She has such a trustworthy, honest presence that makes our school a better place.”

Matt Jacobson is 8th Grade Boy of the Month. His parents are Susan and Mark Jacobson. His favorite subjects in school are Math and Language Arts, and his favorite hobbies are blacksmithing, bee-keeping, and playing football and basketball. His favorite food is ribs, and his dream job is to become an international pilot. For right now, he plans on getting straight A’s and spending a lot of time playing with his baby niece. Matt is a hard worker with high standards, great versatility, and a ready smile. One teacher said, “Matt is an extremely enthusiastic, outgoing, unique, and hilarious young man who is always ready to help anyone in need or provide the humorous side of things.” Another teacher said, “Matt is such a sweet and funny kid. I really enjoy when he does the announcements in the morning; he is quite enthusiastic and easy to understand. His work in class is outstanding. He has a great sense of humor and has been a delight to get to know this year!”
