4th of July update

In 1936, on the 4th of July, it rained about 4 inches that day! The parade went on, including this entry from Warner’s Garage and many others.

Well, this year …the parade won’t go on … but, you can drive by would-be parade entries that will be placed on Forks Avenue the day of the 4th.

The Horseshoe Tournament is canceled and the Sacks Tournament was looking at moving the event to the Transit Center and will depend on the weather. Both of those events had been planned for Saturday at the Park.

So enjoy the Fireworks on the evening of the 4th …when it is dark enough they will be set off from behind City Hall near the school bus loop. There will be no onsite viewing but they are larger than usual and should be viewable from most neighborhoods.

Remember West End Youth League is set up next to Tillicum Park selling fireworks as a fundraiser. Open now until the 4th noon – 8 p.m.
