Hoh Road Construction Activities

Last week, Interwest Construction Inc. (ICI) placed the concrete for the diaphragms between the girders and the curb on the deck of the Canyon Creek bridge. ICI began construction of a temporary reinforced soil wall to allow them to build the approaches to the final grade of the bridge. ICI designed this solution to allow them to fill the embankment while still maintaining space for traffic in the adjacent existing lane.

This week, ICI will continue constructing ELJs and building the roadway embankment at Canyon Creek.

Impacts to Traffic:

• There following work zones can be expected between MP 3 and MP 11 on Upper Hoh Road: MP 4.5: Temporary Traffic Signals or Flaggers for ELJ construction. MP 10: Temporary Traffic Signals for construction of Canyon Creek Bridge

• Travelers should expect delays at each of these locations, up to a total of 30 minutes per passage through the project corridor Mon. through Fri., 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.

• Olympic National Park and businesses along Upper Hoh Road will remain accessible at all times during construction.
