Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive

Postmaster Laura Huling reported that local mail carriers collect 630 pounds of food and a fair amount of cash donations during the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive held the week of May 13. Huling said, “Donations were significantly down from last year but nonetheless a fair amount was collected for a rainy week. We want to thank all that participated by either bringing donations in or leaving them to be collected at their mailbox.”

Randy Simmons from the Forks Food Bank checked in Monday morning and was available to pick up and deliver all the donations to the food bank which was appreciated. “I would like to also thank the employees here at the Post Office,” Huling said. Giglio, Jennie Roberts and Tami Steveson, high contractors Patty Adams, Max Fernandes and Willie Blatter and last but not least the Forks Forum for remembering to include the announcement in the paper.
