A portion of the former Smokehouse restaurant has been transformed in to a cozy and inviting retail space that as of Monday, Nov. 24, at 10 a.m. will be Forks’ first medical marijuana store.

The entrepreneurs behind the Green Spot are Russell Grush, Lester Caudill and Joseph Grush. Russell was inspired to go forward with the venture because of his son’s seizures, saying that treatment with marijuana has made a huge difference in their frequency.

Russell, a retired logger, says that there is a type of marijuana for just about whatever ails you. Purchases at the Green Spot will require a doctor’s prescription or staff can provide medical release forms to help a person get the legal paperwork to acquire the product they need.

Russell said, “This is a service that needs to be provided, if people have questions or are curious, come take a look. I look forward to it.”

“We tried to buy everything used in building our new store in Forks even the marijuana is provided by local growers, Russell said, “We want the money to stay in the community.”
