Dear Editor,
Over 75 people attended and most danced at the Family Dance sponsored by Rainforest Council for the Arts last Saturday evening. This included ALL ages, toddlers, high schoolers, young adults and seniors.
Age wise, it was the most varied dance ever, thanks to Jaymi Goetze who encouraged families to come and show their kids some old-fashioned country fun. Between admission donations and refreshments, RCA made enough to cover all the expenses which tells us that we can have these community dances again without worrying about extra fundraising.
The music by Loose Gravel was wonderful and the dance instructors, Jane and Terry Hielman, had coordinated dances that matched the music. Everyone appreciated the dance instruction and it was obvious that the regular dance students were having a ball and had learned a lot. Thanks to everyone who baked, helped with set-up and clean-up and contributed by coming and adding to the fun.
