Voter Registration Deadlines Near for Aug. 4 Primary Election

CLALLAM COUNTY — Clallam County voters are reminded that key deadlines are approaching for the Aug. 4 Primary Election.

The deadline to register to vote or update an existing voter registration online or by mail is Monday, July 27. Mailed registrations must be received by the Clallam County Auditor’s Office by that date to be valid.

Voters may also register or update their registration online through VoteWA or download and print registration forms from the Clallam County Elections website.

Those who miss the July 27 deadline may still register or update their registration in person through Election Day, Tuesday, Aug. 4. In-person registration is available at the Clallam County Elections and Voter Registration Office, located in Room 042 on the lower level of the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St. in Port Angeles. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with extended hours until 8 p.m. on Election Day.

To register to vote in Washington, individuals must:

Be a United States citizen.

Be a Washington state resident.

Be at least 18 years old by Election Day. Residents who are 16 or 17 years old may enroll as Future Voters and will be automatically registered when they become eligible.

Not be disqualified from voting by court order.

Not be serving a sentence of total confinement in prison for a Washington felony conviction.

Not be incarcerated for a federal or out-of-state felony conviction.

Ballots for the Primary Election will be mailed to registered voters beginning Wednesday, July 15. Election Day is Tuesday, Aug. 4.
