This week in 2000 Monday had been proclaimed to be Pat Bennett Day as the Spartan Football player had been named High School Heisman Award Winner. This week in 1953 the Grange had raised $160 to donate to the Olympic Clinic Airlock Fund. The upcoming PTA meeting was honoring dads with Dad’s Night. The topic of discussion was to be “How much Allowance?” In town council news Olympic Theater owner Estene Fletcher had asked the council to consider removing the admission tax they had levied on her business. Spartan football player, Arvie Ward had suffered an injury at a recent football game and was hospitalized at Olympic Clinic.
