The Forks High School Spartan Chess Scholars showcased their strategic skills at the Olympic Regional Chess Tournament held on Feb. 8, in Poulsbo, earning an impressive 3rd place finish. Their strong performance secured them a coveted spot at the 59th annual Washington State High School Chess Team Championship Tournament, set to take place on Feb. 28 and March 1 in Stanwood.

The team’s hard work and dedication have paid off, and they now have the opportunity to compete against some of the best high school chess players in the state. Congratulations to the Spartan Chess Scholars, and best of luck at the state tournament!
