Bear Sorensen taught students about steelhead and about working at a fish hatchery.

From April 11 – 15 FES students got to explore what life could be like after high school Graduation.

Each day students heard from various local industries and learned about different professions – from first responders, health care professionals, and an attorney to log truck drivers, PUD lineman, Army and Coast Guard, natural resource professionals, and fishing guides – as well as representatives from Peninsula College and Upward Bound.

Principal Holshouser said, “This week was a great success and our PK-4th grade kiddos had an opportunity to view and learn about the many college and career opportunities right here in our own backyard!”

Holshouser thanked and recognized the local businesses, professionals, agencies as well as FES-PTO President, Jessica Sorensen, and FES School Counselor, Mabel Thackeray, for making the week a BIG success.
