Citizens Academy Forks Police Department May 15-18

A second Citizens Academy will be held May 15 through 18, 2024.

The purpose of the Forks Police Department Citizens Academy is to acquaint members of the community with the role of the Police Department and the function of the judicial system in a classroom setting.

Participants will meet at the Forks Police Department, 500 E. Division St., on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m., with a final practical application day on Saturday, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. followed by a wrap-up and graduation.

Academy instructors are police officers, Department personnel, and guest speakers from all local agencies; including Police, Sheriff, Tribal, Fish and Wildlife, City Attorney, Judge, Prosecutor, and others.

The Citizens Academy is conducted free of charge and is open to all residents of the West End. The class will be limited to 20 people – aged 13 and above. Spots will be filled on a first come first serve basis through email only.
