Forks Forum sold to Sound Publishing

Sequim Gazette, Peninsula Daily News also purchased

The Forks Forum has been sold to Poulsbo-based Sound Publishing, which is a division of Black Press Ltd. of Victoria, Canada.

The sale was announced on Monday, along with the sale of the Sequim Gazette. Both weekly, community newspapers were owned by Olympic View Publishing.

Black Press also announced on Monday its purchase of the Port Angeles-based Peninsula Daily News.

Olympic View Publishing owner Brown Maloney said he was confident the Forks Forum would continue to be successful as a Sound Publishing newspaper.

In a prepared statement Black Press President David Black said: “We have been publishing community newspapers for 22 years in Washington state and see this as an opportunity to expand our operations to the North Olympic Peninsula, which is a good geographical fit with our other newspapers and website titles.”
