Older Woman Group ‘Twilight’ fans supports Forks

Group gathers from across nation for annual Twilight-themed gathering

A dozen members of the OWG (Older Woman Group) Twilight fan club are gathering this week in Forks for fun and community service. Here (from left) Gina Munafo (Florida), Rebecca "Royal" Stratton (Michigan), Rachel Parker-Stephen (California) and Pat Lewis (Texas) hold a check for $500 to be donated on Friday evening, Aug. 3 to Sarge’s Place. The group dined at the River’s Edge restaurant at LaPush on Thursday evening, made a trip to the Olympic National Park Hoh Rainforest station and other activities related to Twilight. A collection of about four dozen books are being donated to the Forks High School Library, with school librarian Tammy Klebe earlier suggeting the titles classic literary titles to be donated. Two generous scholarships for overlooked local students are also being donated by the group during their visit to Forks.  Rebecca Stratton donated a large, handmade quilt for a drawing, with a winner to be named Friday night, Aug. 3. The highlight of the group’s visit is a fancy reenactment wedding of Twilight characters Edward Cullen and Bella Swan, with fancy invitations sent out, to being at 7 p.m. at JT’s Sweet Stuffs’ meeting room.
