The Student of the Month project is sponsored by Soroptimist International of the Olympic Rain Forest (SIORF). Students of the Month are chosen by their teachers and presented with positive rewards for consistently displaying respect and responsibility for their behavior and academic achievement.
Cadence Puksta is the daughter of Miranda Puksta and Levi Puksta. She was chosen as a seventh-grade Student of the Month because of her solid work ethic and her willingness to try any and all work. Cadence is incredibly helpful to staff and others, yet she is able to remain very focused on her own learning. Cadence is a critical thinker and actively encourages good discussions in class. Cadence enjoys reading in class and walking around campus during her free time. Outside of school, Cadence plays volleyball. She loves to ride her quad and go bow shooting as well.
Ethan Bello is the son of Marcia and Mario Bello. He was chosen to be a seventh-grade Student of the Month. Ethan has a great attitude, pays attention and is responsible for his learning. He stays focused and engaged in the lessons, and is not afraid to advocate for his learning. He is a thoughtful kid, who looks out for others and is quick to help a friend. At school, Ethan enjoys recess and hanging out with his friends in the morning. Ethan likes to hang out with his friends outside of school, too, whether it’s playing video games or playing soccer.
Hayden Baker is the son of Yvonne Reaume and Jeremy Baker. He is an eighth-grader at Forks Junior High. Hayden was chosen this month because his teachers feel that he is kind, polite and really helpful in the classroom. He is respectful to adults and peers. He participates in class discussions and is really enthusiastic about learning science. He is a hard worker and puts forth his best effort. Hayden is a quiet and steady student. He is well-liked and there’s never a question of respect for the school, staff or the class. When asked what he enjoys about his day, Hayden said he likes hanging out with friends and learning in all of his classes. Hayden stays busy outside of school playing football, riding quads and going fishing.
Emily Adams is the daughter of Jen and Tim Adams, and an eighth-grader at Forks Junior High. Emily was chosen by her teachers to be Student of the Month because of her positive attitude toward her school and peers. She has integrity and shows discipline in both her academics and athletics. Emily chose to step up into a more difficult math class, and because of her strong work ethic, the transition has been very smooth. PE and math are Emily’s favorite subjects. Emily plays softball and volleyball. She also loves to go riding when it’s sunny outside.
Congratulations to these September Students of the Month who received a certificate and a $25 gift card to Barnes and Noble. Students were honored with their parents at a pizza luncheon at school.
