Water main lines breaks in Clallam Bay

Affected residents should boil water

Clallam County PUD report

A water transmission main serving Clallam Bay has broken. All customers east of the Breakwater Inn are without water service.  This notice is for the entire Clallam Bay area. It does not affect Sekiu or the Clallam Bay Correctional Facility.

The Clallam County PUD hopes to get temporary water service restored to our customers by 5:00 pm today. Once service is restored, the Washington State Department of Health recommends that Clallam Bay residents boil their tap water or use purchased bottled water for cooking, drinking, making ice and brushing teeth.  Water should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute and cooled before using in order to kill germs.

Tap water may be used for bathing, flushing toilets and other uses.

It is also important to conserve water.  For example, take shorter showers and postpone activities such as washing laundry.

The health advisory will remain in effect until further notice.  We will do our best to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.
