Winter Ice Village coming to PA

Looking for some good family fun this holiday season? You may want to check out the Winter Ice Village in downtown Port Angeles.

Last Wednesday at the Forks Chamber meeting Marc Abshire, Port Angeles Chamber Director, described the plans for this winter wonderland that was to start being constructed this week in Port Angeles.

The village will feature a 3,200-square foot ice rink and will be open daily 9 a.m.-9 p.m. and until 1 a.m. on News Years Eve and remain open until Jan. 6.

There will be curling demos and a mini Zamboni. The village side will have Christmas trees, 8,000 lights, and Santa on the weekends. The rink will offer skates for rent or you can bring your own, the cost is $15. Also, no worries if it rains the entire ice rink area will be covered with a large tent.

Abshire said the goal is to try and change the winter economy, bringing families downtown to shop and eat. The project is a large undertaking for the Port Angeles Chamber, Abshire said,” I hope people will come out and enjoy what we are creating here.”
